Victorian regional IT company Sage Technology has sold its safety-oriented permit administration system to a third energy plant. The sale - to HRL-owned energy generator and briquette maker Energy Brix - follows previous sales to Queensland's Collinsville power station and to Loy Yang Power for its two plants.
Gippsland business wins award

A Gippsland business has been recognised, winning two awards at this year’s Engineering Excellence Awards. Sage Technology, of Hazelwood Rd, Morwell, created a major software program, the Permit Administration System (PAS), used by Loy Yang Power in a $33 million power station upgrade this year. The Victorian Institution of Engineers Australia awards recognised the innovative engineering approach and safe work practices used by Loy Yang Power and its major partners in the project, Sage Computer Support, Siemens Ltd and Fluor Global Services.

Award-winning Sage Technology, based in the Latrobe Valley, has just sealed a third major contract for its process driven, purpose-built Permit To Work software. The system assists power station and process operators to efficiently manage the isolation of plant to help ensure the safety of staff involved in routine and emergency maintenance.
