mPAS Preview for User Group

PAS users will have the opportunity to test the prototype mobile version of Sage Technology’s Permit Administration System when they meet in Morwell next month.

mPAS has been built on the Dexterra platform to enable PAS users to verify tags in the field. It can be run on handheld devices such as Symbol’s ruggedised MC90.

The PAS Users Group meeting will be held at Sage Technology’s head office on Wednesday, September 13. The meeting is open to all companies using the permit to work, lock out tag out system, as well as to representatives of organisations which are considering it.

PAS supports efficient safe access to equipment in large industrial plant. In it is embedded a world's best practice process to administer permits to work and plant isolations including lockout and tagout management. It was developed in conjunction with Loy Yang Power to meet their rigorous standards for an electronic PTW system, and has now been installed in major plant across Australia and internationally, including Indonesia and Bermuda.

The PAS User Group will give members an opportunity to influence the future development of this leading-edge technology that is delivering safety, risk reduction, and financial benefits. They will be able to share their experiences with PAS and tell Sage what they like about it, how they would like it developed in the future, and the issues affecting PTW in their industries.

The agenda for the day includes:

• Recent modifications to PAS;
• Desired modifications;
• Meeting new PAS developers;
• Hear about the latest PAS implementations; and
• Discuss other relevant matters.
