PAS User Group getting underway
The inaugural meeting of the PAS User Group will be held on Friday, September 29, 2005.
Sage Technology, the company behind the Permit Administration System (PAS), will host the day-long event at its head office in Morwell, Victoria.
Representatives from all sites which have or are close to implementing PAS have been invited to participate in the user group.
PAS supports efficient safe access to equipment in large industrial plant. In it is embedded a world's best practice process to administer permits to work and plant isolations including lockout and tagout management. It was developed in conjunction with Loy Yang Power to meet their rigorous standards for an electronic PTW system, and has now been installed in major plant across south-eastern Australia and in Indonesia.
The PAS User Group will give members an opportunity to influence the future development of this leading-edge technology that is delivering safety, risk reduction, and financial benefits. They will be able to share their experiences with PAS and tell Sage what they like about it, how they would like it developed in the future, and the issues affecting PTW in their industries.
Sage Technology Product Director, Peter Kingwill, said he was delighted to bring users of PAS together in such a forum.
“We are happy to initiate this group, but we know that the greatest strengths will come from the interest and activities of the people and organisations involved,” he said, “The people who use PAS are in the best position to tell us what it needs to do for them and they can help each other to get the best results with it.”
