New version of PAS released
User feedback has guided the development of a range of enhancements in the newly-released Version 2.0 of Sage Technology’s Permit Administration System (PAS).
Product Director, Peter Kingwill, said he receives many ideas for updates and enhancements as he talks with existing users and demonstrates PAS to potential clients across Australia.
“The changes in the new version provide significant enhancements, increase the flexibility of PAS and address several minor issues,” Peter said, “But more importantly, these changes are a direct reflection of user feedback, which means that PAS will be even more efficient and effective in its role of delivering a world leading plant access and permit to work system.”
The enhancements in Version 2.0 have been jointly funded by NRG Gladstone and Sage Technology, and include:
- Steps (operating instructions) that allow detailed isolation and restoration procedures to be defined;
- Certificates – allowing one or more site specific documents to be attached e.g. hot work, working at heights, excavation etc.;
- SIL upgrades –search on isolation point, SIL title provided, print SIL, certificates and steps supported;
- Printing – permit duplicate can be sent to another printer or to another tray on the permit printer;
- Plant index – addition of plant item type, search on location, restore to and plant item type;
- Limited access authority – a self issue work authority for minor work such as lighting, air conditioners, hoists etc.
The new version has already been installed at NRG Gladstone (Qld) and TRUenergy Yallourn (Vic) and is available to existing PAS users as part of the maintenance and support agreements with the only cost being for effort associated with installation.
